The National Constitution Center commissioned Mona Lisa Saloy to compose a verse entitled "We," the most important word in our constitution for the occasion of the recipients of the Liberty Medal.
The 2006 Liberty Medal Recipients were President William Jefferson Clinton and President George H.W. Bush Sr.
The live NBC broadcast captures the standing ovation in Philadelphia. The poem was subsequently published in Konch journal online and is included in the new collection, Second Line Home, New Orleans Poems.
